Ross is from Canada and grew up skiing in the Canadian Rockies. He first came to St. Anton in 1998 and worked for the infamous Krazy Kanguruh après ski bar. His job entailed skiing around in a Kanguruh suit and handing out free schnapps to skiers from all over the world! Ross returned to Canada to complete his Bachelor of Arts degree but made it a priority to return to St. Anton for parts of most winters.
Maaike is from Holland and grew up riding horses in her mother and father’s back yard and in surrounding parks and forests. She rode competitively in eventing until the age of 21 when she needed more time to complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Maaike first came to St. Anton in 2005 and quickly fell in love with the sport of skiing and the atmosphere and beauty of St. Anton.
After residing and working in Canada between 2006 and 2010, Maaike and Ross’s spirit of adventure, love of meeting and entertaining people, and their desire to live each day to its fullest has brought them back to St. Anton.
